Research prize SWA – apply now!

Every year, the Foundation for the Promotion of the SWA awards a Research prize and, in addition, a Recognition prize for research work that has been produced largely using SWA materials.

The prizes will be awarded for work created predominantly using materials from the SWA. This may include research based on traditional archive records such as minutes, correspondence, photographs, films and plans, or material from the economic documentation such as newspaper cuttings, brochures, annual reports, etc.

The deadline for applications is the end of the year. The prize consists of a certificate, the opportunity to present one’s work to an interested audience, and a cash prize.

The topic is not relevant. The text may deal with economic history, but may also address any of the many topics for which material is equally available at the SWA, such as consumption, transport, architecture, environmental issues, etc.

The work may be published or unpublished and does not need to have been produced as part of an academic qualification (Master’s thesis, doctoral thesis, habilitation).
